Hedge funds go to war over US defence contractor Transdigm (TDG)

The Financial Times has a story on the hedge fund battleground stock Transdigm (TDG):

"On one side are the protégés of hedge fund royalty, Julian Robertson, whose Tiger Management spawned a raft of young managers who are now known as “Tiger Cubs”; on the other, a pack of short sellers including Sophos Capital, led by Third Point alum Jim Carruthers, Sheffield Asset Management from Chicago, and Steadfast Capital in New York.

A little-known news outlet in Washington called Capitol Forum said the company was courting political controversy by hiking prices for defence components. The short seller Andrew Left, in a reference to the scandal-ridden pharmaceuticals company, dubbed it the “Valeant of the Aerospace Industry”."
